Giggles

I got Izzy to giggle (if that is what you call them) several times in a row, but only if I said a magic word...

It doesn't get easier...

I've been back to work now for three weeks and it is getting harder and harder to leave Izzy. I thought it would get better. The first week I was sad...the second week I cried in the car on the way to school... the third week I quietly cried in the dark on Sunday night as I talked about it with my husband. What will week 4 bring? Izzy is changing so fast and I wish I could be with her ALL the time. I know it is healthy for both of us to be apart...and really I can't complain because I work part time. Plus she is in the best hands next to her momma and daddy with Grandma Meredie, Grandma Donna, and Aunt Lori. However I can be selfish right? You never can anticipate the love you will have for your children.

Happy Birthday Papa Jim!

Justin's step-dad's birthday was on Saturday. We had the family over for a BBQ to celebrate Jim's 69th birthday on Sunday and had a great time! Happy Birthday Papa Jim! We love you...

Izzy was facinated by the cake! Hmmm...sweet tooth in her future?

Where does the time go?

So much has happened since my last posting. I feel like I have no time to post too! I need to be better at this!!! Both of my sisters came into town last weekend for Tala's baby shower. Like always it was great seeing them...maybe even more so now that I can watch them interact with Izzy. Pretty amazing! I'm so excited for Tala to have Trey! Not much longer! I plan on taking off a week of work to go down and see him and help out.

Izzy had her first ferry ride to Poulsbo a couple of weekends ago. My mom, aunt Sandy, and grandma, Izzy and I went to Poulsbo to the famous Scandinavian bakery there. Yummmm they had so many goodies. I picked up some Leafs of course to take home. They actually make the bread Poulsbo that we buy from the grocery stores. Had no idea until we went into the bakery and saw the bread. My mom more pictures, when I get them I'll post them.

We have Izzy on a schedule now. When I went back to work she started waking up every two hours again and nursing for such a long time!! We give her a bath starting at 9ish, lotion up with a baby massage and have floor time. Then I nurse her and read to her. It seems to really help get her down. I think she is adjusting now to me working 2-3 days a week. When I come home each night, she does nurse for a long time though. I miss her so much, but I'm thankful that my mom is watching her on Mondays and Tuesdays and Justin's mom and sister every other Wednesday. Plus I'm blessed to only have to work part time. Izzy has rolled over from tummy to back twice now. I think it is total accident, but still very exciting! She loves her baths and the TV of all things! She is really starting to grab at her toys and have an interest in them. She actually has an interest in everything around her. I love seeing her take in new environments. We are concerned that Izzy may have acid reflux. She spits up all day long and it is the curdle kind. Not fun!

Here are some pictures from the last couple of weeks.

I survived...

Yes...I survived my first day back teaching away from Izzy. It was really hard to leave her this morning, but I was okay once I got to school. Izzy spent the day with my best friend Trina who is also a teacher, but on strike right now in Kent and her two awesome girls Chloe (9) and Gracie (5). Little Izzy had a blast with the girls and had a great day! WHEW...makes me feel so much better! The only hiccup in the day was that I forgot the all the attachments to the breast pump at home, so I was HURTING all day! I won't do that again!

Last Friday Izzy found her thumb! It was so cute... I was driving home from Seattle and she kicked her blanket and Binky off of her so I couldn't reach back and help her. She was rubbing her face and sucking on her hands while grunting and all of a sudden she was quiet. I looked back and she had her thumb in her mouth. She does it a lot now. Looks like I may have a thumb sucker on my hands. Hopefully it won't be hard to break her of it when she is older, but for now I'm all for it if she can soothe herself!

We traveled down to Oregon so Tyson could do some birthday shopping (he turned 13 yesterday!) and to visit Aunt Tala and Uncle Brian. This was Brian's first time meeting Izzy. He hasn't been able to get up to Seattle due to work and a ton of weddings that he has been in. Izzy loved her Uncle Brian and we loved seeing them. Hopefully they will move home soon! Both of them said it is in their future!!!!!!!
